Jollibee traces beginnings in 1975. Tony Tan Caktiong and his family opened a Magnolia ice cream business in Manila(Philippines) which later offered hot sandwiches and meals. 10 years later, Jollibee Foods Corporation ventured into foreign lands through its first Jollibee store in Brunei(Nevada Brunei Darussalam).
When the food itens became more popular than ice cream, the family decided to convert the ice cream business into a fast food restaurant which became the first Jollibee in 1978. It was initially named "Jollibee", but changed its name to "Jollibee".
As of September 2023, there were over 1500 Jollibee outlets worldwide. Jollibee opened its 1st branch in Hong Kong in Sept 1996 in the Central.
